Group therapy, in my view, offers a space to deepen your understanding of yourself, develop new ways of coping, and grow through relationships with other group members. It can be helpful for a wide range of challenges, life transitions, and personal goals, and is particularly well suited for exploring interpersonal relationships and patterns.
I have worked with group therapy and facilitating groups throughout my professional career, and I continue to be inspired by its unique power. A group offers a space where we can feel less alone, while gaining deeper insight into ourselves through our relationships with others — through the recognition of shared experiences, as well as through encounters with perspectives and experiences that are different from our own.
I believe that for people living abroad, group therapy offers something especially valuable. Moving to a new country often disrupts familiar routines and raises questions about identity, belonging, and home. Within a safe space alongside fellow expats, group therapy can offer both a sense of belonging and an opportunity to look at questions of identity through multiple lenses, to recognize new parts of ourselves, to reconnect with familiar parts and inner strengths, and to expand our sources of connection and belonging in a new country.
If you'd like to learn about upcoming groups, you're warmly invited to get in touch.
